SPINNING

Can't be taught. Someone can show you how to do it, but first it must be learned through practice.

I tell our elders at the chapter houses, when they opposed the idea of bringing in computers into the chapter houses: "If you can wait for the Bingo bus and spend your time and money at casinos, you can go to your local chapter house and learn computers" just like you learned to weave. There are two ways to everything you use as a tool, which is good or bad.

The Internet has been described as the information highway. Emil Benally learned from his grandfather that life was like a highway making sure not to traverse too far on either side of the road while learning its meaning along the way. This analogy may be applicable for those of us who also travel the Internet like a highway, learning our lessons as we go and trying to remain balanced.

Jean describes just what the Internet is to her her grandmother.
